Alice is an Outsider trying to find her way in a crazy new world. Julius is the Clockmaker, shunned by other role-holders and living like a hermit. Both have shut away their hearts behind walls of thorny vines. But when a meddling outside force turns those metaphorical thorns into something very real, both Alice and Julius must confront their own h...

The scene starts at prolog when Alice realizes that she can no longer escape. She is now trapped in thorny vines slowly falling asleep. With that, Nightmare declares the beginning of a game.

The scene shifts to the clock tower. Alice has just returned from shopping bringing along Ace. Julius asks what had happened as she originally went alone. Alice then explains that she was bothered by Peter who has been asking her to move with him again. Ace then chimes in explaining that he was the one to help Alice get rid of Peter, as he was passing by that street. Julius surprisingly agrees with Peter, adding that he dont care about Alice and she should move somewhere else. This starts a small argument while Alice prepares coffee. She however can't reach a cup but Julius helps her get it. Soon after Alice serves them both a cup of coffee. Julius comments that he didn't ask for one and to just leave it somewhere, but he adds that even when cold her coffee is good.

Their chatter slowly changes to a dream world where Alice and Nightmare discuss her love troubles. She reprimanded him for reading her mind admitting that she loved Julius. Nightmare advises her to do what she wants as this is nothing but a dream...

Later at night Alice gives another coffee to Julius, she comments that she has to wait three time changes to go to sleep. The coffee scored 30 points which upset her. Julius continues the conversation saying that she should not interfere in Aces and Peter fight, she however states that she could not allow Faceless to get hurt in a crossfire. Julius changes his demator and hugs Alice begging her to be more careful he then hurriedly leaves wishing her goodnight.

Due to events of last night Alice could not rest well. Met by lack of response from Julius, Alice started to wonder if she had done something wrong. She starts to reminisce on their past conversations and her work in the clock tower. Unable to come up with an answer Alice decides to corner Julius in order to understand his recent attitude. Julius however stated that he simply returned to his normal behavior adding that if she did not like it, she should change her place of residence. Alice angered throws papers at him, storming off, and passing by just entering Ace. Julius then explains the situation to the curious Ace, who comments on his friend's stupidity stating that he will come to regret it.

The scene shifts to fuming Alice. She had gone to the forest in order to cool off, soon she realized however that she had gone too far off. When trying to return she slips, nearly falling off a cliff. She fortunately is saved by Ace who had gone looking for her. He then comforts her explaining that Julius is not content with his own feelings, he is simply worried that by associating with him is going to hurt her. He also states that Julius would come to her rescue if Alice was ever in danger. Alice then suddenly faints because of Nightmare powers  as he wants to put this statement to test.

Worried Ace grabs unconscious Alice and rushes back to Clock tower. Meanwhile Julius reminisces about Alice and his behavior towards her. He is spoon interrupted by an Ace who rushes inside with Alice in his arms. Julius was spooked out and asked what had happened, which Ace explains. He then is instructed to bring Alice to heart castle in order to find a doctor, Ace however dislikes the idea stating that Peter resides here. Julius argues back stating that he doesn't care what will happen to Alice, that fraze makes Ace realize that unless pushed Julius will continue to deny his feelings. Ace tries then a different approach. He states that since Julius doesn't care then he shouldn't have a problem with him killing Alice as she is a person who might not even wake up.

The scene changes to Nightmare and Alice, he informs her that she can't go back on her own and instead Julius needs to come to her rescue, she replies that this is already a lost game as he won't come, but Nightmare tells her to not be so sure.

Alice tries to escape the tower, she however cannot get past thorns which block the entrance. Helpless she throws herself on the bed. The voice of Nightmare suddenly fills the room asking if he should come to her rescue.  She is uncertain. At the bottom of the tower Julius and Ace are starting to make way through the thorns. They soon after accidentally release some kind of shadow entities, Ace starts to fight them telling Julius to go ahead. Further way is blocked by roses since they seem to be unaffected by weapons Julius has no other way but tearing them by hand.

On the top of the tower Alice finally realizes her feelings for Julius, she is soon surprised by him coming through thorny roses. They embrace each other and confess working through their earlier argument. Soon they get interrupted by Nightmare who explains that he linked roses to Alice's feelings.

Nightmare asks Alice if she is certain of her feelings, as the things she will leave behind are precious to her. Alicee confirms stating that she wants to return to the clock tower. Nightmare then creates a tunnel underneath Alice and Julius leading to their destination. After Julius and Alice fall into the hole, Ace comes into the room starting conversion with Nightmare. They discuss the love problems of the two that left, and round about way of Nightmare dealing with it.

Back at the tower Alice is treating Julius' wounds, they go through their feelings and argument which makes Alice kiss Julius on the cheek. They start making out but they get interrupted by Ace. In the end Julius says welcome home to Alice who is glad to be home.
