   Is Kenmore House worth a visit?

   • The extensive restoration work on Kenmore is mostly complete. iT is a beautiful house and worthy of a visit. It give views a good idea of what life was like during the period. It was as nice as any house I've seen in England and gives one a good glimpse of the period.

   • Kenmore was the home of George Washington’s sister, Betty, and her husband, Fielding Lewis, who lost his fortune by racking up debt in order to support the Continental Army during the War of Independence. It’s a lovely, well-maintained home, and our guide was excellent, telling us both the story of the home and the story of the family.
