  5. Aug 30, 2015 · I would just get Microsoft Office for Mac if you want to use Access. Office for Mac does not include Access, it would be a complete waste of money. Access is a relational database, Filemaker is a flat file. They are not compatible. Feel free to check Microsoft.

As for databases available on macOS, Claris Filemaker Pro, PostgreSQL, SQLite, MariaDB/MySQL, LibreOffice Base, etc…. For higher-level app development stuff, Ninox or Knack or FileMaker can be interesting.
