Envestnet | Yodlee maintains bank-level security and is audited like a bank. The credentials stored are hardware encrypted using FIPS 140-2 level 2 HSM, and the keys used for encryption cannot be accessed by anyone, including Yodlee employees.
Yodlee encountered a controversy in which lawmakers claim that they are selling consumers’ personal financial data without proper consent, calling on the Federal Trade Commission to investigate the matter. In August 2020, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Envestnet and Yodlee.
