Aug 21, 2020 · Joseph DeAngelo, 74, who had eluded authorities for decades, pleaded guilty in June to 13 counts of first-degree murder and 13 rape-related charges in a deal that spared him the death penalty....
After DeAngelo was arrested, he was also suspected of committing the 1974 Visalia rape and murder of Jennifer Armour, the 1975 Exeter rape and murder of Donna Jo Richmond, and a 1978 murder of a woman and her son in Simi Valley, but was cleared as a suspect in all four murders by DNA testing.
Apr 26, 2018 · Joseph James DeAngelo has been charged with eight murders, and is suspected in dozens of other crimes. He had recently retired after working 27 years in a supermarket distribution center.
