Sarajevo Film Festival osnovan je 1995. godine za vrijeme rata u BiH i postao je premijerni i najveći filmski festival u jugoistočnoj Evropi. Festival se održava u Narodnom pozorištu, uz projekcije u Pozorištu na otvorenom Metalac i Bosanskom kulturnom centru. Sarajevo je proglašeno Gradom filma.
