I've got power steering fluid leaking all over (rate: goes from max line to min lines about every 300 miles or so) and I'm pretty sure the source is either a small crack or split seam in the plastic reservoir or the connection to the hose on the bottom of the reservoir.

  2. Dec 6, 2021 · I have a 2007 Mazda6 2.3L and my boyfriend and I just replaced the power steering pump but it's still leaking. We torqued the crush washers to spec and even put a new hose clamp on the high pressure hose. It has been leaking so much that within a day the reservoir is basically empty.

  3. May 30, 2012 · From the bottom, everything looked ok-pressure lines were dry around the fittings, but from the top where the reservoir hose entered the pump, it looked wet. Took the hose off and it seemed hard(too hard for a non pressure hose) and the ends were cracked. I called up Mazda and they quoted me $55.

  4. Mar 8, 2016 · I replaced a blown leaking power steering pump over the weekend. I had to reuse the reservoir which appeared to be good and used a new o-ring in between. The new pump is still leaking and it appears to at least be coming from where the top hose attaches.
