For the past few weeks, I've been searching for an album to review where I could just name-drop the shit out of it.

Nov 27, 2020 · "Monuments To Excess" collects Fuel's self-titled LP, a 7" released on Lookout!, and a pair of splits with Ontario's Phleg Camp and Angry Son from Oklahoma. The artwork and design is some of my favorite John Yates work, and is adapted from his earlier cover for the LP.

This is such an awesome (and overlooked) melodic hardcore gem full of chest thumping punk rock anthems. They definitely remind me of Hot Water Music, and were very obviously influenced by Fugazi and bands from the revolution summer (but in an awesome non-derivative way).
