Since football first debuted at Saint Ignatius High School in 1911, the sport has captured the hearts and minds of many Wildcats. The football program developed into a strong program over the years. The Wildcats won 12 city championships from 1925-1977, including four under legendary coach and athletic director John Wirtz.

Jack and his dad often sat high in the upper decks of Progressive Field, broadcasting to empty seats as practice. Keane did not have the same past with hockey or broadcasting. His first hockey game was a Saint Ignatius scrimmage in 2016.
