May 2, 2024 · Seventy-five years ago, architect Philip Johnson completed the construction of the Glass House and the Brick House in New Canaan, Connecticut. These two original structures were on the original 5-acre parcel of land that would become an almost 50-acre architectural and artistic landscape.
The building, among Washington's premier modern mansions, was designed in 1963 by Pritzker Prize winning architect Philip Johnson (known for building in the "International Style" at that time), together with Richard Foster, and sits on five and a half wooded acres in Northwest DC.
