The Geoscape is the primary element of Phoenix Point's strategy game layer. It comprises the world map and all its various locations, including your bases, options for research & manufacturing, personnel management, as well as an overview of other factions' havens and their diplomatic status with you or their neighbors.
Key to the Geoscape is its system of sites & locations, and traversal between them, which is accomplished through the movement of aerial vehicles carrying your soldiers across the map. Sites remain unknown, marked with a ? until the player sends at least one soldier in an aircraft to it and uses the Explore command to reveal what the site is.
Havens are key Sites on the Geoscape that mark the location of major human settlements. Many belong to one of the three major factions - New Jericho, Synedrion, or the Disciples of Anu - but others can be Independent. The player can trade resources, recruit soldiers, and fight defense missions at Havens.
Events can occur while exploring sites, by visiting Havens, or through other ongoing factors as time progresses on the Geoscape. Many can be beneficial, such as the player discovering an abandoned military base filled with valuable salvage and resources. Others can present difficult choices that may advantage one major faction while angering others...

There are many types of Locations like Heavens, Random Events and Enemy Bases. Player will first need to fly to the location and explore in order to unlock its content.

Acid can accumulate on body parts if they are hit multiple times with acid damage. At the start of a character's turn, the acid will eat away at the body part.
