Woody Allen narrates an almost biographical story, about a child who grows up in the time of World War II, but falling in love with the stories on the radio. It’s a tour de force – it’s actually questionable if Allen’s work ever felt this confident again.
The one actor who is not visible is Allen. But his teenage alter ego ( Seth Green) provides a memory of young Allen in " Take the Money and Run ," and then there is Allen's own voice on the soundtrack, evoking those golden days of yesteryear.
