Ronald Stein (April 12, 1930 – August 15, 1988) was an American film composer. Biography [ edit ] Born in St. Louis, Missouri , Stein wrote scores for many low budget horror and exploitation films during the 1950s and 1960s, most of which were released by American International Pictures .
Ronald Stein. Composer, conductor, pianist and author Ronald Stein was educated at Washington University (BA), the Yale School of Music and the University of Southern California. In college he wrote musical shows. He was named the assistant musical director for the St. Louis Municipal Opera in 1950, 1951 and 1954.

Ronald Stein (BA Music ’51) was born in St. Louis on April 12, 1930. His first piano teacher was his mother, Ceclia, who was a pianist in the silent movie theaters. It was through her that he became enamored with film and especially film music; which became his life’s work. From 1938-1947, he was privately educated at the Leo C. Miller studios.
