Feb 9, 2024 · BSA’s new Gold Star first debuted in early 2022, as part of Mahindra’s Classic Legends sub-brand. Instead of being built in the UK like the originals, the new BSA models are built in India, although it seems there is plenty of input from employees in Old Blighty. The new bikes have a liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, making a claimed 45 hp.

THIS IS A MUCH MORE SUBSTANTIAL SEAT THAN OTHER REPRODUCTION B50MX SEATS. IT HAS A FIBERGLASS SEAT PAN BUT IT IS REINFORCED IN KEY SPOTS WITH STEEL. OTHER B50 MX SEATS ON THE MARKET ARE MUCH MORE FRAGILE ESPECIALLY IN THE REGION OF THE FRONT SEAT MOUNT. COMPARE THE WEIGHT OF THIS SEAT AT 4.5 LBS WITH THE OTHERS WEIGINING IN AT 2.5 LBS.
When I was a child in the 60s our house was always full of bikers on a Sunday. My father used to buy job lots of ex army BSAs and sell them off in parts. We all rode on his BSA. My seat was on the tank tucked into his arms. Long before the government decided it was not safe. I dont believe he ever wore a helmet.
