One Little Soldier Boy left all alone; He went and hanged himself and then there were none. The poem above is a nursery rhyme that has been adapted many times. While this version uses soldiers, some may use "Indians" or other words.
The plot is structured around the ten lines of the rhyme "Ten Little Niggers", an 1869 minstrel song by the British songwriter Frank Green. In later editions, the characters are replaced by "Ten Little Indians" or "Ten Little Soldiers".
