    Samantha Brown aka Danica Whitman (Sydney Sweeney) is the main villainous in the 2018 Lifetime film The Wrong Daughter (alternately titled: Psycho Daughter, Love me or else, airdate May 6th, 2018).

    Not much is known about Samantha's past expect that she was given up for adoption and she was diagnosed with schizophrenia . In her teen years, Samantha lived in a group home called Safe Harbor Group Home run by Ms. Hanson. At the beginning of the film, Samantha is first spotted in bed with a famous singer after a one night stand. Samantha tells her lover about her plans to go to Vegas and start a life with him but her lover rejects her stating he won't have time for her causing Samantha to lash out and take his gautar making him beg her to give it back. The singer does, but Samantha bludgeons him with the guitar killing him. Samantha attempts to sneak back into the group home with the help of Danica or as Samantha calls her "knick-knack" only to be caught by Ms. Hansen. Ms. Hansen kicks Samantha out for her defiant behavior and because Samantha is 18 so she should've been out anyway. Samantha lashes out at Ms. Hansen and proceeds to leave but not before stealing Danica's laptop. Samantha poses as Danica and eventually meets Kate Whitman (the main protagonist) where she charms both Kate and Joseph. Samantha lies to Kate about her past stating that she was never adopted and that Ms. Hanson was abusive to all the children in he group home. Samantha also forces a homeless woman to pose as Ms. Hansen to talk to Kate who wants to adopt Danica as her legal mother. Samantha quickly becomes jealous of Kate and Melissa's relationship as Kate is trying to open her own restaurant and spends less time at home. Samantha lashes out at Kate when Kate promised to take Samantha shopping but got caught up at the restaurant. Samantha later apologizes and buys Kate a gift but places the gift in Melissa's purse to paint Melissa as a thief but Kate forgives Melissa making their relationship stronger.

    Samantha goes home and destroys Melissa and Kate's garden which is very sacred to them. Ivan (Melissa's boyfriend) films Samantha's meltdown and Samantha is later confronted by Melissa and Ivan after Melissa saw the video. Melissa sends the video to Joseph and Kate while Samantha goes to Ivan's place to explain her actions stating that destroying things make her feel present with Ivan sympathizing with her and offering to delete the video as long as Samantha tells Kate. As Ivan walks Samantha out, Samantha pushes Ivan down the stairs killing him. Samantha goes back home with Joseph telling her that Melissa sent him a video with Samantha suggesting they watch the video on the TV. As Ivan walks towards the TV, Samantha pulls the rug back causing Joseph to slip and hit his head resulting in him being hospitalized. Meanwhile, the real Danica messages Melissa telling Melissa the truth about Samantha with Melissa attempting to warn Kate.

    Danica calls Kate from Ms. Hansen's office revealing herself as Kate's real daughter while telling Kate that Samantha is dangerous. An officer arrives at the cabin asking Samantha to confirm her identity but Samantha stabs the police officer to death after learning that he was sent there. Samantha goes back to the group home and takes the real Dani...
