Our review: Parents say ( 1 ): Kids say ( 4 ): The show, which uses a mix of CGI animation and live-action model sets, has a fresh new style when compared with the pretty dated original puppets. However, the Tracy boys are easily recognizable and true to their original personalities and characteristics.

4/10. A disappointment. moysant 4 October 2003. A curiosity for fans only. Thunderbirds was an early 60's UK TV show (50 mins format). It was original because it used marionettes (mechanised puppets) and superb models of aircraft, spaceships, nuclear powerplants and the like, usually exploding at some point.

Where 'Thunderbirds Are Go' mostly falls down is the length and pacing agreed. The episodes are too short, and in an effort to try and cram in as much as possible many of the stories feel rushed and hyper-active (both in comparison to the original and on its own terms).
