They released Toothbrush in 2002. Mark left the band in 2003 and O'Donnell left in 2004. Juston Stens replaced Ted Mark on drums. The band's early years were spent largely in Philadelphia where they developed a small but dedicated fanbase touring with other local bands such as The Teeth.

Early album Toothbursh is a gem of enormous Beatleish hooks, sublime melodies and heaps of fun. Better brush and floss because you'll smile a lot more once you've been Dr Dogged, '100 years' off album Fate did it to me

Jul 14, 2017 · Moreso than any Dr. Dog recording since, Toothbrush feels the most human, the most flawed. It’s soothing in a weird way, sort of like a deranged indie-rock lullaby. While not particularly original, its simplicity is what draws me in even further.
