Some applicants do choose to visit the UW campus to help them decide if they want to apply to the MFA program. As a rule, the Director of Creative Writing meets with applicants only after they have been accepted. The best time to visit is after we’ve accepted you.
The Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing is a two year program offering a degree in either Poetry or Prose, and is a part of the English Department's Creative Writing Program.
The requirements for the Master of Fine Arts degree include workshops and seminars, preparation of a Preliminary Bibliography, a Creative Manuscript, a Critical Essay, and an Oral Presentation.
