The film stars the voices of Ed Asner, Christopher Plummer, Jordan Nagai, and Bob Peterson. The film centers on Carl Fredricksen (Asner), an elderly widower who travels to South America with youngster Russell (Nagai) in order to fulfill a promise that he made to his late wife Ellie.
Russell is an enthusiastic and persistent 8-year-old Junior Wilderness Explorer from Tribe 54, Sweat Lodge 12. Armed with a backpack laden with official Wilderness Explorer camping gear, Russell is ready for the wilderness! There's just one catch: he's never actually left the city.
May 26, 2009 · Grumpy and just wanting to live his life in peace, Carl is annoyed when Wilderness Explorer Russell comes calling, wanting to "help the elderly" to get the last badge he needs. So he sends him on a fool's errand, and believes that he has seen the last of Russell.
