La Vega de Granada está situada en la parte central de la provincia, ocupando la depresión formada por el río Genil y sus afluentes (Aguas Blancas, Beiro, Cacín, Colomera, Cubillas, Darro, Dílar, Monachil y Velillos). Es una amplia llanura rodeada por las montañas de Sierra Nevada, Sierra de Huétor y Sierra de la Alfaguara.
