Feb 7, 2010 · The door handle on my 65 Mustang has excess play to it and if you lift it very slightlly the darn door pops open. (drivers side) (drivers side) I replaced the Door Latch Assembly, thinking this was the problem, nope still the same problem.
May 26, 2013 · I have installed a reproduction door handle on my 65 mustang. When I push the button in, the rod doesnt seem to push far enough to unlock the door. The button goes all the way in, then I have to wiggle it around and it will finaly unlock. Is there a way to adjust the button so it pops the door sooner?
Dec 4, 2003 · Dec 10, 2008. #1. Got a new pass. door latch for my 65. The old one would not stay shut, and randomly pop open at times, making the girl 'timid' and 'upset' about sitting next to me. So, new latch from NPD. Repro. First, the three mounting screws don't fit *perfect* like the old latch- not excited about that. Close, but not really great.

Mar 11, 2014 · The installation is performed on a 1967 Mustang but it is the same procedures for 1965-1966, 1968 and 1969 and 1970 Mustangs; 1970-73 Mustang door handle are a flush mount – lift style but the operational principals are the same. How the door handle works.
Jun 4, 2013 · The clips are not original though. There is a difference in the door latch assemblies that may be playing a part. The shaft depth for the passenger's side door is just a bit longer/deeper than the driver's side and the door handle goes on for that door. I think it's an original assembly, but not sure since it does not have any markings on it.
Dec 8, 2011 · #1 · Dec 8, 2011. I pushed the button on the drivers side outside door handle and something cracked and the button just sank into the door. Upon taking off the door panel I found the button and a pin of sorts and removed it. I'm looking for a diagram of how it's put together so I can reassemble it.
