The player plays as a young wizard prodigy with noticeably great potential to learn magic. Noot, the wizard's fairy guide from the Academy, helps the player through the tutorial where they will choose their starter pet pet—each representing a different element. After entering the Academy, the player discovers the Puppet Master (as well as his sidekick, Pippet), a misguided entity who plots to rule the island and restore Shadow magic's "rightful" glory.
As the player levels up and progresses through the plot, they must overcome more challenges and enter into new adventures, such as Crystal Caverns, Elemental Zones, The Archives and more while collecting items, gear, and currencies—all of which while the wizard and their pets that the player rescued gain new spells to use in battle. One way of learning spells are using different wands, each corresponding to different spells.
