North Chungcheong Province (Korean: 충청북도, Chungcheongbuk-do), also known as Chungbuk, is a province of South Korea. North Chungcheong has a population of 1,578,934 (2014) and has a geographic area of 7,433 km 2 (2,870 sq mi) located in the Hoseo region in the south-center of the Korean Peninsula.
The only landlocked province in the whole country, Chungcheongbuk-do is the center and heart of Korea. Known as a good agricultural region, the province's main products are ginseng and tobacco. One of the oldest temples in the country, Beopjusa is located here in the Songnisan National Park.
Chungcheongbuk-do is the only landlocked province in Korea that tourists often pass through without ever realizing it. The centrally located province is just southeast of Seoul and has gorgeous natural landscapes with mountains, lakes, rivers, and caves.

I was disappointed in that all there is to see is some temple style fixtures attached to the wall and a 4.2 km walk around the circumference of the wall.You can take little walks through the middle but this time of year you only got to see bare trees.

- Gyejoksan Red Clay Trail, Daejeon. Gyejoksan Red Clay Trail is a must-visit site in Korea as you can walk barefoot here within the Jangdong Forest Park.
- Cheongpung Cable Car, Chungcheongbuk-do. Connecting Multae-ri, Jecheon to Bibongsan Mountain summit, the Cheongpung Cable Car offers excellent views of Cheongpungho Lake.
- Cheongnamdae (Presidential Villa), Chungcheongbuk-do. Cheongnamdae is the only presidential villa in the country to host six presidents of Korea. The natural environment has been well preserved, serving as a home to wildlife including over 143 species of wild flowers and 124 species of trees and several endangered species too!
