The Detroit International RiverWalk spans more than three miles, from Rosa Parks Blvd. to the Belle Isle Bridge. This breathtaking feature offers the RiverWalk Café for guests to fuel up for an enjoyable walk, run, bike ride or just to relax.
With this mental snapshot of Detroit’s current-day accessible riverfront, it’s hard to imagine that not so long ago it was an unattractive expanse of cement silos, unused warehouses and fenced-off spaces that blocked most of the Detroit River from public view and use.
The Detroit International Riverfront is a tourist attraction and landmark of Detroit, Michigan, extending from the Ambassador Bridge in the west to Belle Isle in the east, for a total of 5.5 miles (8.8 kilometers) along the Detroit River.

Cullen Plaza, along with approximately two miles of East Riverfront RiverWalk, opened to the public in 2007. Plaza highlights include a custom-designed River Carousel, a standing glass map of the St. Lawrence Seaway and an in-laid granite map of the Detroit River.
Currently, 2 ½ miles of East Riverfront is complete and open to the public. The Detroit International RiverWalk will span 5 ½ miles of riverfront, from the Ambassador Bridge to Gabriel Richard Park, just east of the Belle Isle Bridge.
