On January 13, 2013, it was confirmed that soap opera writers Thom Racina and Susan Bedsow Horgan were named as the new Head Writers of One Life to Live. On April 9, 2013, it was reported that Horgan citing "personal reasons" has stepped down as co-HW, leaving Racina as OLTL's sole HW.

Thomas "Thom" Frank Racina is an American writer. He is best known as the current head writer of One Life to Live.
Racina is known in the daytime community, mostly for General Hospital, Santa Barbara, Generations, and Days of our Lives. He has had a lot of success in daytime including, creating the original Cassadine family, along with the "Ice Princess", writing the most watched viewed episode in daytime, the Luke and Laura wedding, creating one of GHs most infamous villains, Helena Cassadine, marrying supercouple Hope and Bo, and introducing one of DOOLs most popular character, John Black.
