Morrissey married his girlfriend of over 13 years, novelist Esther Freud, in a ceremony on Southwold Pier on 12 August 2006. They were introduced to each other by actor Danny Webb. She is the sister of fashion designer Bella Freud, daughter of painter Lucian Freud, and great-granddaughter of psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud.
