"Old age" in the game starts from 47 yrs, though chances of dying from old age increase past 55. Most NPCs die around 57-60.
If we assume you die of old age maybe around the age of 60 of 70 or older then it's gonna last a really long time. Currently a faction will have snowballed out of control at around 500 or 600 ingame days from what I read.

I've seen Lucon (Northern Empire leader) die of old age in the first year ingame and he's 63. I'm sure that there's a (hidden) mechanic that determines the odds of characters/NPC's dying of old age and I'd love to know of it too.
