The City of Rocks National Reserve, also known as the Silent City of Rocks, is a United States National Reserve and state park in south-central Idaho, approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) north of the border with Utah. It is widely known for its enormous granite rock formations and excellent rock climbing.
May 24, 2024 · City of Rocks is one of the finest granite-face climbing sites anywhere. Climbers find the younger granite of the Almo Pluton to be some of the best rock they’ve ever ascended. About 700 routes have been developed to date. City of Rocks also has ample access to hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding.

The City of Rocks National Reserve is one of southern Idaho’s best backcountry adventures. The 14,407-acre reserve is situated at the southern end of the Albion Mountains and features towering granite pinnacles, fins and domes. Climbers come from around the world to conquer routes ranging in difficulty from 5.0 (easy) to 5.13 (very difficult).
