Download Festival was founded in 2003, intended as a spiritual successor to the Monsters of Rock festival, which had provided a platform for the same brand of shred-heavy rock and metal between 1980 and 1996. The 2020 festival’s three headline acts will be painted glam-rockers Kiss, heavy metal legends Iron Maiden, and Armenian-American heavyweights System of a Down. Beyond the three headliners, Download have also announced nine more bands that will feature on the 2020 roster: Deftones, Korn, The Offspring, Disturbed, Gojira, Alestorm, Black Veil Brides...
In 2020, Download will once again come to Donington Park, Leicestershire. Between Download and Monsters of Rock, Donington Park has played host to most of the biggest names in rock, including AC/DC, Guns’N’Roses, Judas Priest and Thin Lizzy. As a result, it is regarded as a holy site for UK rock fans and metalheads.
Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday 25 September, starting at £181.50 for adults and £88.20 for children. They can be purchased on the festival’s website. Barclaycard customers can take advantage of pre-sale access from Monday 23 September, as well as 10% off tickets.
