Dec 26, 2019 · Though we’ve shared a comprehensive list, it may benefit you to ask your local Goodwill if you’re unsure if they will accept a certain item. They may make an exception if they have a specific need for that item.
Goodwill accepts gently used items that are clean, safe and resaleable. Donations can be made at our retail stores and attended donation centers. Please see the list of items we can and cannot accept here:
Below are items that are generally accepted or not. Again, we recommend checking with your local Goodwill to confirm the donation acceptance guidelines in your area. Acceptable Items (In good, working condition) Bedding (other than pillows, mattresses, and box springs) Books. Children’s clothes and footwear.
The IRS requires an item to be in good condition or better to take a deduction. Our donation value guide displays prices ranging from good to like-new. To determine the fair market value of an item not on this list below, use this calculator or 30% of the item’s original price.
Donate when and where it’s convenient for you at one of our 28 main retail stores. They accept household items and apparel seven days a week. Hours and types of items accepted vary by location – find your nearest donation location below.
Goodwill accepts donations of clean, gently-used clothing and household items. We depend on the sale of these items to support our programs and services. In evaluating appropriate donations, a good rule of thumb is to consider whether your family or friends would find the item (s) useful if you passed that item on to them.
