  3. Sep 19, 2013 · Over 70 years ago in May 1933, in a vote conducted by the Hampton Script, students selected “Pirates” as the official mascot of Hampton. It was a pretty tough competition with competitors such as: Seasiders, Ironmen, Buccaneers and Wildcats.
