    Tent camping is hands down my favorite way to camp in Illinois. You have a wide variety of options to choose from, including primitive campsites and more developed campgrounds with modern amenities.

    Illinois is home to countless dispersed and boondocking campsitesthanks to its abundance of public land. Campgrounds within Shawnee that can accommodate RVs (up to 40 feet) are Oak Point, Tower Rock, and Camp Cadiz.
