A few examples that come to mind include: Nick Gilder - Hot Child in the City. I clued in on this pretty quickly after hearing a DJ annonce "That Was Nick Gilder". Huh? Nick can also be a girl's name?

Nov 4, 2011 · Love Nick Gilder, heck I just tracked up a cover version of it, wish I could sing like him though, I can hit the notes but I'm all nasally and sound like a strangled cat. Any tips on that? I've struggled with that for as long as I've tried to sing, To me it sounds fine, when I record something and play it back YIKES!

It's older, but Nick Gilder in the late 70's, who did Roxy Roller and Hot Child in the City. I always thought it was a female singer.

Dec 10, 2011 · THEN I find out it IS Nick Gilder fronting his own band and that he sings like a girl! I'm like, "WTF IS THIS CRAP!?!" So now, on top of his annoying girly vocals, I can't get past the fact that a dude sings like this.
