Jan 25, 2017 · SAGINAW, Mich. — For the first time, the State of Michigan is planning to close public schools for academic reasons. The Michigan School Reform Office said 38 schools are failing and subject to closure. Two schools in the city of Saginaw are on the list, Saginaw High School and Loomis Academy.
