Directions: From I-81: Take exit 279. Turn west on SR 675. Drive 3.5 miles to STOP sign at VA 42. Turn right, and take next left to continue on SR 675. Drive 3.1 miles to a fork in the road. Stay right, on SR 675, and drive another 3.4 miles to the top of the mountain. The entrance is on your right.

Aug 18, 2015 · This campground only has nine campsites, so it’s perfect for some quiet time in the woods. Plus, mountain biking and hiking trails criss cross through the area. Don’t miss the trail that leads to Big Schloss Overlook, which boasts some incredible mountain views!

Wolf Gap is a lovely small forest service campground of 9 spots. On some very old descriptions and the info board it shows the campground as having 10 spots, but one has been closed probably due to drainage issues. It is a great, quick weekend getaway from the Washington D.C. metropolitan area that provides wonderful hiking opportunities.

This free campground is only two hours from Washington, DC and serves as the trail head to some of the best hikes in the area including Big Schloss, Tibbet Knob, and Moon Mountain. Wolf Gap is a FREE year round campground located just outside of Woodstock, VA.
