    Zadar is the fifth largest city in Croatia and the second largest in Dalmatia, with a population of 70,779 according to the 2021 census. The 2021 census shows Zadar with a population of 67,134 or 94.85% of its citizens being ethnic Croats.

    • St. Donatus Church. This early-Byzantine church was built all the way back in the year 800 and remains in a near-perfect state of preservation. Over time St. Donatus tall, rounded outline has become a symbol and a source of pride for Zadar, the first building you’ll see on postcards.
