The Cthulhu Mythos is a collection of Mythos tales from the late American author August Derleth. Published in February 1997 by Barnes & Noble, The Cthulhu Mythos is a 448 page hardcover book edited by Jim Turner with an introduction by Ramsey Campbell and cover art from Leah Lococo.
Derleth invented the term "Cthulhu Mythos" to describe the fictional universe depicted in the series of stories shared by Lovecraft and other writers in his circle. When Lovecraft died in 1937, Derleth and Donald Wandrei assembled a collection of Lovecraft's stories and tried to get them published.

Many dislike Derleth for his handling of Lovecraft's works after his death & for his lack of continuity in his version of the Mythos versus Lovecraft's.
