Cruelty (Icelandic: Grimmd) is a 2016 Icelandic film written and directed by Anton Sigurðsson. In Cruelty, two young sisters from Reykjavík are found murdered, and the two best police detectives try to solve the case. In 2017, Cruelty was nominated for awards at the Filmfest Hamburg and Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

A man walking his dog in the woods outside Reykjavik, Iceland stumbles upon the bodies of two young girls. One has been strangled and the other beaten. Then, pretty quickly, we cut to the heart-wrenching scene where the mother is brought in to identify the bodies of her daughters.
