David Alexander Hess (September 19, 1936 – October 7, 2011) was an American actor, singer, songwriter, and director. He came to prominence for his portrayals of murderous villains and gruff characters in several films in the 1970s and 1980s.
David Hess (1936-2011) was a versatile and prolific performer in film, music and television. He is best known for his role as Krug in The Last House on the Left (1972) and its sequels, as well as composing the soundtrack and directing the film.

David Hess was a singer, songwriter, composer, actor and director who starred in Wes Craven's The Last House on the Left (1972). He also wrote the Grammy-winning rock opera The Naked Carmen and the soundtrack for Buck ai confini del cielo (1991).
