The Dequindre Cut is a below-grade pathway, formerly a Grand Trunk Western Railroad line, located on the east side of Detroit, Michigan, just west of St. Aubin Street. Much of the Cut has been converted to a greenway; the colorful graffiti along the pathway has been left in place.
The Dequindre Cut Greenway is a paved path nearly 2 miles long in downtown Detroit. The trail has separate lanes for bicyclists and pedestrians. Entrance ramps for the trail can be found at Lafayette Street, Gratiot Avenue, and Woodbridge Street.

The trains ran below grade from the Detroit River warehouse district — serving factories like a stove plant, a rubber company, and the Parke-Davis Laboratories — north through the Eastern Market and on to the suburbs.
Jun 6, 2024 · The Dequindre Cut Greenway is a two lane walking and biking course that spans roughly two miles from Larned Street and Saint Aubin to Chestnut Street and St. Aubin. Following this path, the course will take you over evenly paved terrain and features colorful graffiti art and urban murals.
The 27.5-mile greenway will connect parks and neighborhoods across the city, allowing residents to travel safely from McNichols to the riverfront—all without a car—through a combination of new trails, on-street protected bike lanes and links to existing trails like the Dequindre Cut and the RiverWalk.
