Ellen Rose Alemany is an American business executive. She is the Vice Chairwoman of First Citizens BancShares. She was formerly the chairwoman of CIT Group. In 2020 she was included in a list of "most powerful women in banking" published by American Banker.
She had been a commercial banking executive at Citigroup, where she started in 1987. As she moved up the ranks, she excelled at the messy art of corporate integrations and divestitures. She even oversaw key parts of Citi's integration of Travelers, the insurance giant it bought in 1998.
