   Jan 2020. Higgs beach is on the southern coast of KW, some 15 min walk from the southernmost marker. It was a great place for us to relax and cool down in the sea after exploring that part of KW. Adjacent to the beach are terrific (free to enter) botanical gardens at the Gardens club (see that review).

   • While walking to the Key West Garden Club, we walked through Higgs Beach… It wasn’t bad, by Key West standards, as Key West really isn’t known for beaches in the first place, just popular for every other form of watersport. The beach has public restrooms, with no air conditioning, so they aren’t very comfy.

   • Amazingly, the Marine Park, Pier, and historic sites merely scratch the surface of the attractions available at Higgs Beach. Immediately across Atlantic Boulevard from the beach, you will find a kids’ playground with new equipment, pickleball courts, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, and a dog park.
