Joshua David Greene (born 1974) [1] is an American experimental psychologist, neuroscientist, and philosopher. He is a professor of psychology at Harvard University. Most of his research and writing has been concerned with moral judgment and decision-making.

Moral Cognition and Infrastructure of Complex Thought. The Greene lab studies the mechanics of moral thinking, and high-level cognition more generally, using behavioral experiments and functional neuroimaging.
My current neuroscientific research aims to understand the “language of thought”, how the brain combines concepts to form complex ideas. I teach in the GenEd program and am the author of Moral Tribes: Emotion, Reason, and the Gap Between Us and Them.
