She is best known for portraying the roles of Yvonne Atkins in the ITV prison-based drama series Bad Girls (1999–2003), and Shirley Carter in the BBC One soap opera EastEnders (2006–present). She had previously appeared in EastEnders as the original Lorraine Salter (1991–1992).
