ADDRESS. 211 Carter Street. New Canaan. CT. BUILT. 1868. Located on Carter Street, this is actually the third school building on the site. The first one was moved to this site – literally pulled up Canoe Hill Road by oxen – so that District 3 could open in 1852. It was torn down three years later.

The League of Women Voters moved the Little Red Schoolhouse from its original location on Forest Road to its current address at 13 Old.
Sep 21, 2010 · Formerly the schoolhouse of Wethersfield ‘s West Hill District, the one-room school called the “Little Red Schoolhouse” was built in 1869 and still displays its two separate front entrances, one for boys and one for girls. The building was later used by the Wethersfield Police Department and is now home to the Wethersfield Art League.

Feb 10, 2020 · Located at the intersection of Platt Hill and Taylor Brook Roads in Winchester is a one-room schoolhouse built in 1815 to replace an earlier one on the same site that had burned down in the 1790s. The new building, Winchester's District No. 8 schoolhouse, was heated by a fireplace until a box stove was installed.
