Margaret Ann Rich, 76, beloved mother, songwriter and music publisher died peacefully Wednesday morning, July 22 at her home in Germantown, Tennessee. Her husband was famed country music singer Charlie Rich, who credited Margaret Ann for much of his success.
He married Margaret Ann Greene in 1952. While stationed in Enid, Oklahoma, he formed "the Velvetones", playing jazz and blues and featuring his wife on vocals. [5] When he left the military in 1956, the couple returned to the West Memphis area to farm 500 acres.
