Feb 21, 2014 · I’ve recently discovered a truly inspiring housing development in Davis, California. This is not new news–it was built in the 1980’s, but it’s new to me and worth sharing. Village Homes is the brainchild of architect/developer Michael Corbett. It encompasses 70 acres and 200-some homes.
Designed and developed by Michael and Judy Corbett in the 1 970s, Village Homes consists of 242 single- and multi- family residences on sixty acres. Houses are planned as energy-conserving buildings around common open spaces with play areas and shared gardens.
1978 – Those students connect with Michael and Judy Corbett to create permanently affordable, cooperative housing in the newly forming Village Homes. They agree and Co-signed the original financing for the Sunwise Co-op.
