Jun 29, 2007 · Mosquito Island is on the Texas City Dike. From Houston you come down I-45 and take Emmet Lowry exit. From there you will go about 8 miles and you will get to 146. You just keep going straight under 146 for 5 minutes and you will run into the dike. Take a right when you cant go anymore and an immediate left at the light.

Sep 28, 2011 · #1 · Sep 28, 2011. Just got back in with the Water Rescue Boat. I took it to Mosquito Island to locate any of the deep holes around it. They are not there anymore, on either side. The only hole we found in the area was between the island and the lighthouse on Levee Road. It was mainly 12' deep and 13' in one spot towards the levee side of the hole.
Jun 28, 2016 · No such thing as Mesquite Island...it's Mosquito Island, which is a banana shaped oyster reef on the North side of the Dike just off Levee Rd. Midways down Levee Rd and off to the right is Dollar Reef. It's about time to be throwing croaker at trout there.
