Peter Albert Brooke (October 6, 1929 – April 1, 2020) was an American businessman, in private equity. Brooke founded TA Associates in 1968, and Advent International in 1984.

Advent's founder, Peter Brooke, stepped down as the firm's CEO in 1996, but remained active as the company's chairman. Through the 2000s, Advent's expansion accelerated as the firm raised additional funds for its various fund families and opening new offices in Europe and Asia.
Apr 1, 2020 · Brooke became Advent’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer upon leaving TA in 1984. Under his leadership, Advent grew to be one of the world’s largest and most respected private equity firms, implementing the investment approach in Europe, Latin America, Israel, and Asia.
